About a month ago in Columbia, I had someone run up to me while I was getting into my car and ask to contact him if I was thinking of selling it. On my way home my clutch hydraulics failed and it damn near stranded me but I was able to nurse it home. Now this evening, while letting someone else test drive the miata, he hit a huge bump (one that was clearly marked by a huge construction sign) hard enough that my tach, oil pressure gauge, temp gauge, turn signals and reverse lights died. Tracing shorts is one of my least favorite things to do, especially up under the dash so it looks like I have a fun morning ahead of me tomorrow. I think the car gets cranky when there is any talk of selling it as it’s been nothing but reliable for the rest of the time that I’ve owned it.
The joys of 20 year old wiring….
I’ve had this posted for sale for a few days now and someone is coming to take a look at it this evening. I don’t know if I can bring myself to sell it. It has been such a headache at times and the most rewarding car I’ve owned at others. I always wanted one of these and I’m glad I was able to spend a year driving one. However, as a daily driver, it just does not work. I would love to keep it as a fun/weekend car but I simply can’t afford it. So, looks like I will be picking up a Fiesta ST in the near future.
